HC Deb 04 May 1970 vol 801 cc46-7W
Mr. Chichester-Clark

asked the Minister of Transport whether he will list the schemes which have been submitted to him by appropriate authorities under the provisions of Section 48 of the Transport Act, 1968; what was the general nature of each scheme; what was his decision on it; whether each scheme has yet been implemented; and to what extent each scheme involved construction work.

Mr. Murray:

The British Railways Board is undertaking work in accordance with proposals submitted under Section 48(4) of the Transport Act, 1968, covering activities of manufacture and repair for outside persons under Section 48(2) of that Act, and manufacture for the business of the board and of other nationalised transport authorities under Section 13 of the Transport Act, 1962.

My right hon. Friend said in reply to my hon. Friend the Member for Leicester, North-East (Mr. Bradley) on 8th December that he had approved the proposals and had arranged for copies to be placed in the Vote Office. I am sending a copy to the hon. Member.

No other proposals have been submitted to my right hon. Friend under Section 48(4) of the Transport Act, 1968. —[Vol. 793, c. 27.]
