HC Deb 26 March 1970 vol 798 c470W
47. Mr. MacArthur

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what representations he has received regarding Government assistance for library facilities at universities; and why he will not increase the grant to enable the University Grants Committee to maintain facilities, in view of the present difficulties particularly in Scotland.

Mr. Fowler

It is only at a single university that strong student representations have been made and that University is discussing the problems with the U.G.C. As for the second part of the Question, I would refer the hon. Member to my Answer to a Question by the hon. Member for Galloway (Mr. Brewis) on 5th March.—[Vol. 797, c. 144–5.]
