HC Deb 26 March 1970 vol 798 cc512-3W
Earl of Dalkeith

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland how many tree preservation orders were made in Scotland in each of the last 10 years; in how many cases was compensation paid; and what sums of money were involved.

Mr. Ross

The number of orders made is as follows:

1960 9
1961 9
1962 22
1963 9
1964 10
1965 12
1966 10
1967 4
1968 11
1969 19

Any compensation is settled between local planning authorities and the parties concerned, and I do not have comprehensive information about it.
