asked the Secretary of State for Employment and Productivity what is, for the longest and most convenient stated period of time, the number of Parliamentary Questions handed to Members by her Department.

It is a longstanding practice for the general convenience of the House that Ministers occasionally arrange to give information to the House by means of inviting a Member to ask a particular Question. This is an entirely informal procedure and Departments do not keep records of its use.
