Very heavy snow, such as we have had recently, and bad driving and abandoned vehicles, inevitably cause some temporary dislocation. We give local highway authorities advice and lend equipment to help them deal with their own roads. The British Railways Board keep their arrangements for dealing with snow and ice under continuous review.
