asked the Minister of Transport if he will now make a statement about his proposals for a south-west bypass to Beverley and the Hull-Beverley trunk road.

As I informed the hon. Member on 19th February, we have invited the East Riding County Council to consider a single carriageway design which would justify higher priority than the dual carriageway originally proposed. I understand that the council will be considering this at their meeting on 3rd April.
