Mr. Speed

asked the Secretary of State for Employment and Productivity if she will state the percentage increase in the index of retail prices between the third quarter of 1964 and the third quarter of 1969, and between the third quarter of 1959 and the third quarter of 1964.

Mr. Dell

The general index of retail prices rose by 22.6 per cent. between the third quarter of 1964 and the third quarter of 1969, and by 16.1 per cent. between the third quarter of 1959 and the third quarter of 1964.

Mr. Speed

asked the Secretary of State for Employment and Productivity if she will list the index of retail prices quarterly from 1958 to the latest convenient date.
