Captain Kerby

asked the Minister of Technology if he will list those limited liability companies, such as the Beagle Aircraft (1968) Limited, authorities, boards, commissions, councils and other bodies to which his Department appoints full- or part-time chairmen, directors or members, together with the salaries and expenses these nominated persons draw from public funds.

My right hon. Friend listed the boards and committees to which he appoints members other than civil servants in his reply on 2nd March to a Question from the hon. Member for Sutton and Cheam (Mr. Sharples)—[Vol. 797, c.19–20.] They included the National Coal Board, the British Steel Corporation, the Gas Council and its area boards, the Electricity Council and its area boards, the Central Electricity Generating Board, and the Atomic Energy Authority. Details of appointments to these bodies were published in the White Paper (Cmnd. 4245 of 1969) entitled "List of Members of Public Boards of a Commercial Character". Except for members of the Atomic Energy Authority, payments are made not from public funds but from the revenues of these bodies.

Of the other bodies listed in his reply of 2nd March, my right hon. Friend appoints members on a salaried basis as follows:
