HC Deb 23 March 1970 vol 798 cc316-8W
Mr. Hobden

asked the Minister of Transport if he will ensure the permanent cancellation of the former three-lane highway marks in the vicinity of Hickstead on the A23, in order to avoid confusion now existing.

Mr. Bob Brown

A length of the A23 trunk road in the vicinity of Hickstead Service Station was changed from 3-lane to 2-lane carriageway markings in 1968. The satisfactory obliteration of permanent carriageway markings is always difficult but we have arranged for our agent authority, the East Sussex County Council, to investigate this length of road.
