HC Deb 19 March 1970 vol 798 c184W
Mr. Kelley

asked the Minister of Technology if he will give a list of those power stations, in respect of which permission to convert from coal to any other fuel has been given to the Central Electricity Generating Board, stating the dates upon which such permission was granted.

Mr. Alan Williams

The C.E.G.B. has been given specific permission to convert four power stations which are currently coal-burning to another fuel—Littlebrook B, part of Portishead B, Brunswick Wharf and Fulham: the consents are dated 20th, 23rd, 27th January, 1956, and 22nd December, 1969 respectively and I would refer my hon. Friend to the replies given to my hon. Friends the Members for Blyth (Mr. Milne) and Midlothian (Mr. Eadie) on 6th February and 2nd March. The C.E.G.B. also has some power stations under consents permitting dual-firing but I am not aware of any proposals to change their fuelling.—[Vol. 795, c. 226–227; Vol. 797, c. 18.]
