HC Deb 18 March 1970 vol 798 c134W
Mr. Dewar

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what is the average amount per head of pupils spent by local authorities on school textbooks and the stocking of school libraries.

Mr. Ross

Precisely comparable figures are not yet available for all Scottish authorities but I estimate that for 1968–69 current expenditure on school books was probably a little over £2 per pupil.
