HC Deb 18 March 1970 vol 798 c125W
12. Mr. William Hannan

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will state, separately, for the most recent convenient period the number of people killed and injured by motor vehicles; and in how many instances drivers were found to be under the influence of alcohol.

Mr. Buchan

During 1969, 892 people were killed and 30,164 injured in accidents on Scottish roads, all but a very small number of which involved motor vehicles. I regret that the information requested in the second part of the question is not available.
