HC Deb 16 March 1970 vol 798 c11W
77. Mr. Brian Harrison

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what is the number of permanent and pensionable members of Her Majesty's Overseas Service; what are their ages; and in what year they are entitled to take their full pension and retire.

Mr. Luard

In all the remaining Dependencies there are approximately 1,540 permanent and pensionable members of Her Majesty's Overseas Civil Service. Their ages are between 25 and 60 and the age of any individual can be ascertained if required. The age of retirement for each individual depends on a number of factors, including the Pensions Legislation of the Dependency, any special compensation schemes which have been or may be introduced and the officer's own wishes.
