HC Deb 12 March 1970 vol 797 c366W
Mr. Brooks

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he will make a statement on the arrangements which exist for psychiatric examination and treatment of young people suffering from severe behavioural disorders who are placed in approved schools.

Mrs. Shirley Williams

If psychiatric examination at a classifying school shows severe behaviour disorders, the child is sent to a school which has a visiting psychiatrist. If in-patient treatment is needed, the child can be moved to a psychiatric hospital.
