HC Deb 11 March 1970 vol 797 c303W
1. Mr. Hastings

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what is his policy with regard to the import of French brushed and unwashed potatoes during the spring of 1970.

Mr. Hoy

New potatoes, which are normally required to be washed if they are sent to this country from areas affected by Colorado Beetle, are exempt from this requirement if they are treated in licensed packing stations. There are at present five such stations in France from which new potatoes may be imported between 1st March and 30th June.
