The Registrar General's estimates of the population in the Tayside Economic Planning Region at 30th June, 1966, 1967, and 1969 were 449,800, 447,300 and 446,600, respectively. It is approximately estimated that the number of persons in employment in the area at mid-1966, 1967 and 1968, excluding employees in certain categories who do not hold insurance cards, were 182,000, 175,000 and 174,000, respectively.
