HC Deb 09 March 1970 vol 797 c217W
67. Mr. Arnold Shaw

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services whether, in view of the high incidence of cases of heart attack, he will give some priority to the establishment of resuscitation units in major centres of population.

Dr. John Dunwoody

Facilities for immediate resuscitation are an integral part of intensive care, whether in special units for heart patients or in separate units for critically ill patients. Most main centres of population have at least one such unit in a district general hospital.
