HC Deb 06 March 1970 vol 797 c188W
Mr. Pardoe

asked the Minister of Transport what comparison he has made between the new American standards for controlling motor vehicle exhaust emissions, details of which are in his possession, and those currently enforced in this country; if he is satisfied that British standards are adequate; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Mulley

Conditions in America call for different controls from those in force in this country. I am considering what changes, if any, should be made.
