21. Mr. Cronin

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what is his policy with regard to streaming in primary schools, having regard to the report Streaming in Primary Schools, published by the National Foundation for Educational Research, a copy of which is in his possession.

The internal organisation of schools is the responsibility of the school authorities. It is for them to draw conclusions from the report, which I hope they will study carefully.
