asked the Secretary of State for Defence what plans he has made for the reinforcement of British troops in Hong Kong and for defence obligations to Fiji after 1971.

Mr. Healey

After 1971 commitments to dependencies, including any need to reinforce the Hong Kong garrison, will be met from our general capability based in Europe. It is not the practice to disclose plans for possible operational deployments.
