§ Mr. FreesonMy right hon. Friend is visiting local authorities and addressing conference on improvement policy. We have already helped to sponsor pilot schemes at Rochdale, Exeter and Whitworth and more are in the pipeline. My right hon. Friend has also commissioned studies of the improvement potential of areas in Nelson and Rawtenstall. We are also considering what more can be done to involve the Department more directly in further selected schemes.
