Mr. John Fraser

asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government how many houses he estimates will be built in new towns which will be available to rehouse Londoners in the next 10 years; and how this compares with the figures for the last10 years.

Over 75,000 houses are expected to be built over the next 10 years in new towns providing for London overspill. The corresponding figure for the last 10 years was about 42.000.
