HC Deb 02 March 1970 vol 797 cc26-7W
Mr. Onslow

asked the President of the Board of Trade why, in view of the fact that he has not yet concluded his study of the capability and the amenity effect of increased use of the Woodley/Midhurst route for air traffic, his Department has informed the Chief Public Health Inspector of the Royal Borough of New Windsor that in spring 1970, or a little later, it proposes to direct approximately 18,500 jet aircraft a year on to this route.

Mr. Goronwy Roberts

The Chief Public Health Inspector of the Royal Borough of New Windsor has not been so informed. A figure of 18,500 jet aircraft movements has been referred to as a hypothetical estimate of a theoretical extra use that could be made of the Woodley/Midhurst route if the route were fully developed. How much more use if any will, in fact, be made of the route has not yet been decided.
