§ Mr. Jannerasked the Minister of Transport (1) how many houses are situated on land required for the West Bridge Traffic Scheme in Leicester in an area where demolition and rehousing is already scheduled;
(2) what is the area where demolition and rehousing has been scheduled in connection with the West Bridge Traffic Scheme in Leicester;
(3) when the area scheduled for demolition and rehousing in connection with the West Bridge Traffic Scheme in Leicester was so scheduled.
§ Mr. Michael HeseltineI understand it is the City Council's intention to demolish property over some 50 acres. Of this about 5 acres on which there are at present some 340 houses may be used for highway purposes.
The demolition proposals have not yet reached a formal stage.
