§ Sir B. Rhys Williamsasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what estimate he has made of the net cost, exclusive of administrative costs or savings, of increasing family allowances in respect of all children under the age of eleven years to 18s. per week for the first child, 24s. per week for the second child and 25s. per week for all subsequent children, free of tax, and simultaneously withdrawing the child allowances in respect of all such children.
