HC Deb 24 July 1970 vol 804 cc303-4W
Mr. Wingfield Digby

asked the Minister of Transport whether he will take steps to arrange a fresh public inquiry for the hearing of objections to the parking restrictions he is introducing in Bridport for an experimental period of six months.

Mr. Michael Heseltine

The public inquiry already held and the inspector's report were very helpful in reaching the decision to introduce the experimental restrictions.

If at the end of the period the experiment shows that the restrictions should be maintained permanently or should be modified a fresh order will be necessary, with an opportunity for objections and the possibility of a public inquiry in the usual way.
