HC Deb 23 July 1970 vol 804 cc222-3W
Mr. Wellbeloved

asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government what was the original estimate of costs for Stages I, II and III of the Greater London Council's Thamesmead Housing Development; and what is the current revised estimate for each of the three stages.

Mr. Channon

The Greater London Council's original estimate of the cost of building works for Stage I at November, 1966, was £12.4 million. The estimate for Stage II at October, 1968, was £9.2 million. These estimates are at present being revised to take account of actual costs to date. Estimates for Stage III are not yet available.

Mr. Wellbeloved

asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government (1) what is the cost per unit of housing accommodation at the Greater London Council Housing Development at Thamesmead;

(2) what was the number of units of houses originally planned for completion by 1st July, 1970, at the Greater London Council Thamesmead Development; how many units were in fact completed by that date; and how many are now occupied;

(3) how many tenants of the Greater London Council have moved out of that Council's Thamesmead Housing Development since July, 1968; and how many still remain on the Council's transfer list.

Mr. Channon

The hon. Member can obtain this sort of information direct from the Greater London Council in greater detail and with more useful additional information than I can give by way of Written Answer.
