asked the Minister of State for Defence why the Union Jack is not included in Press advertisements for the Ulster Defence Regiment.

The Union Jack is not used in advertisements for non-regular forces.

asked the Minister of State for Defence how many men are now required to bring the Ulster Defence Regiment up to full strength.

At 17th July, 1970 the strength of the Ulster Defence Regiment was 3,369. The eventual size of the regiment will be decided in the light of experience as the build-up proceeds.
