asked the Minister of State for Defence if he will list the civilian-manned establishments moved out of the London area as a result of decisions taken during 1965 to 1970, together with new location; and what further removals remain to be carried out in implementation of those decisions.

Resulting from decisions taken since 1965, the following elements of the Ministry of Defence employing civilian staffs have been moved out of the London area:

Director General of Equipment (R.A.F.) (part) Qucdgeley, Glos.
Director General, Defence Contracts (part) Bath

The jobs involved in these moves total about 750.

The further removals which remain to be carried out, principally to Cardiff, Bath and Harrogate, cover some 2,500 jobs.
