asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government if he will reappoint a chairman of the South Hampshire Plan Advisory Committee from his Department, in order to restore the link with his Department.

My right hon. Friend is pleased to note the good progress which the committee is making under local chairmanship in the preparations for structure plans for South Hampshire and considers that it would be inappropriate to re-appoint a Ministry official as chairman at this stage.
