HC Deb 21 July 1970 vol 804 cc89-90W
Mr. Eadie

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland, in each year from 1952 to the nearest available date, what percentage of general practitioners in the medical profession took advantage of postgraduate schemes.

Mr. Gordon Campbell

I regret that the information is not available in the exact form asked for. The following table shows, for the years indicated, the total number of general practitioners recorded as attending postgraduate refresher courses in Scotland, under arrangements financed by the Scottish Home and Health Department, expressed as a percentage of the number of doctors in general practice in the Service in Scotland in those years. Some doctors attend more than one course in a year, and the percentages reflect this element of duplication.

1954 10.88
1955 11.11
