HC Deb 16 July 1970 vol 803 cc239-40W
48. Mr. Dell

asked the Secretary of State for Employment and Productivity what action he proposes to take on the Monopolies Commission's Report on the supply of certain services by estate agents.

Mr. Bryan

We accept the conclusion of the Monopolies Commission that the arrangements which give rise to the practice of charging fees at standard rates operate against the public interest. We are consdering what action should be taken in the light of the Commission's Report and the subsequent discussions between the Department and the estate agents' associations.
