HC Deb 15 July 1970 vol 803 c209W
Mr. Roy Hughes

asked the Minister of Transport what representations he has received from the ports authorities in Severnside concerning the enlargement and development of their ports facilities; and what plans he is now considering for approval.

Mr. Peyton

Proposals by the Port of Bristol Authority for a revised West Dock scheme are being examined by my Department and by the National Ports Council, who have been consulted as required by the provisions of the Harbours Act, 1964.

I have just authorised the British Transport Docks Board to carry out urgent reconstruction works to the entrance lock at Newport.
