Mr. Sillars

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland how many consultants in Scotland between the age of 56 and 60 years, the age of 50 and 56 years and under 50 years, respectively, are presently paid for distinction awards in the categories A plus, A and B, respectively.

At 31st December, 1969 the figures for Scotland were as follows:

Mr. Sillars

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland how many part-time consultants in the National Health Service was either A plus or A distinction awards have transferred to full-time status in their last three years of service in the years 1967 to 1969, inclusive.

No consultant holding an A or A plus award who retired during the years 1967–69 had transferred to full-time service in the last three years of service.

Mr. Sillars

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland how many part-time and full-time consultants, respectively, in Scotland in 1969 were granted study leave with pay and expenses involving visits to other countries; and whether the expenses were paid from endowment or National Health Service revenue resources.
