asked the Secretary of State for Wales if he will obtain from the Welsh Council a survey of the economic and social significance to the area served by the Newcastle Emlyn-Pencader railway line.

No. There are no passenger services on the branch line between Pencader and Newcastle Emlyn and the continuance of freight services is a matter solely for the commercial judgment of the British Railways Board.
