§ Mr. Elystan Morganasked the Secretary of State for Wales which schemes for road improvement in Cardiganshire are contained in the preparation pool; what is the estimated cost of each; and what are the respective estimated starting dates in respect thereof.
§ Mr. Peter ThomasThe preparation pool contains only trunk road schemes over £250,000. There is one such scheme in Cardiganshire—Stage I of a new Eastern approach to Aberystwyth, which is estimated to cost £0.5 million. It was added to the pool in May, 1970, and I cannot forecast a starting date at this stage.
In addition, work on a firmly programmed improvement to the A487 road in Aberystwyth costing about 153W £250,000 is expected to begin in 1972–73. Several smaller schemes will be carried out in the County.
