asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department by what authority passport documents issued by the Iroquois Tribe in Canada are accepted as valid for entry purposes to this country.

It is for the immigration officer to decide whether a document produced to him by a passenger satisfactorily establishes his identity and nationality. Each case has to be settled in the light of all the relevant circumstances as they appear at the time, and no general assumption about the type of document referred to by my hon. Friend would be warranted.
