HC Deb 30 January 1970 vol 794 cc419-20W
Mr. Clegg

asked the Minister of Transport what representations he has received concerning the Fleetwood-Knott End ferry; and when he will make a statement.

Mr. Mulley

The Fleetwood Borough Council asked me last year about the arrangements whereby I might make them a grant under Section 34 of the Transport Act, 1968, towards the costs of providing his ferry. As the council has already been informed, the conditions of grant and other particulars will be fully explained in a circular which will be sent to it, as well as to all local authorities as soon as possible.

I undestand that the council now requires for the purposes of its financial estimates an early indication as to whether this ferry service would qualify for capital and revenue grants, and my Department will shortly be replying to their recent letter giving them as much information as possible.
