asked the President of the Board of Trade if he will introduce legislation requiring all tonics sold to the public, other than on prescription, to carry the manufacturer's name and address on the carton or bottle.

Although we have powers to impose such a requirement, I think that the suggestion would be more appropriately considered by my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Health and Social Security in the context of the Medicines Act, 1968.
