HC Deb 28 January 1970 vol 794 c364W
Mr. Dalyell

asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government if he will make a statement on the shortage of staff in the Countryside Commission; and how many extra staff will be required to complete its study of the coastline.

Mr. Skeffington

I am aware of the concern expressed by the chairman of the commission. The Department is taking steps to fill vacancies and will shortly be discussing future requirements with the commission's officers. The coastal study is at an advanced stage and the date of its completion will not be affected by the staffing position.
