Mr. Bob BrownWe have received the results of a feasibility study investigating possible routes for a new high grade road between Popham and the South of Winchester. When these have been examined in detail my right hon. Friend will announce a decision about the selection of a scheme for further preparation. Proposals for a preferred line will subsequently be published in accordance with established statutory procedures. A route to the east of Winchester is one of the alternatives cohered by the study.
