43. Mr. Edward M. Taylorasked the Minister of Technology if he will make a further statement on the extent to which natural gas supplies have reduced the price of gas to industrial and domestic consumers.
§ Mr. Harold LeverSix area gas boards so far have announced general tariff reductions on conversion to natural gas which have so far benefited over 800,000 consumers, and nine boards have announced new and more favourable optional natural gas tariffs which are available to over 1,100,000 consumers. Increasing numbers will benefit as conversion proceeds.
