asked the Minister of Technology whether he is aware of the pending closure of the creamery at Port William; and what action he is taking to secure incoming industry for the Machars of Wigtownshire.

I am aware of the pending closure. The Ministry's office in Glasgow will continue to bring the area and the assistance available there to the notice of suitable firms.
