HC Deb 22 January 1970 vol 794 c180W
Dame Joan Vickers

asked the Minister of Transport in view of the fact that there has been an increase in the number of accidents on the roads in the South-West, Devon and Cornwall, what action he proposes to take to improve the roads in 1970.

Mr. Mulley

In the four South-Western counties of Somerset, Dorset, Devon and Cornwall there has been only a marginal increase in the number of personal injury accidents in 1969 compared with 1968.

During 1970 work is expected to start on motorway, trunk and principal road schemes in these counties to a total value of some f16 million.
