HC Deb 22 January 1970 vol 794 c172W
Mr. Evelyn King

asked the Secretary of State for Employment and Productivity upon what data she based her estimate that 1,000 new jobs were likely to be created in the Weymouth area in manufacturing industry in the next four years and that about half of them would he for males; and if she will make a statement.

Mr. Dell

These were jobs expected to arise within the next four years in authorised new industrial buildings and in existing buildings taken over by manufacturing firms as estimated by the regional office of the Department of Employment and Productivity. However, the estimate is now 700, reflecting a decrease in the employment expected from two projects.
