HC Deb 21 January 1970 vol 794 cc156-7W
Mr. Bishop

asked the Secretary of State for Employment and Productivity how Great Britain compares with other International Labour Organisation countries in respect of days lost through strikes in the last published year.

Mr. Harold Walker

Information from the International Labour Office—published in the November 1969 issue of the Employment and Productivity Gazette—shows that in respect of days lost through industrial disputes per 1,000 persons employed, the figures for the United Kingdom for 1968 were better than those for most other major industrial countries.
