HC Deb 20 January 1970 vol 794 c100W
68. Mr. Willey

asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government whether he will make a statement about the visit of his Parliamentary Secretary to Sunderland and his discussions with the Sunderland Borough Council.

Mr. Freeson

I visited Sunderland on Thursday 8th January to discuss with members of the council the need for a bigger house building programme. Various local housing problems were identified, particularly the slum clearance needs and the rate of new building. The matters are now being pursued by officials.
