§ Mr. Eldon Griffithsasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food by what percentage figure he estimates the costs of handing sugar beet to the British Sugar Beet factory in Bury St. Edmunds have increased over the last year; to what he attributes this increase; and what steps he is taking to recoup sugar beet growers.
§ Mr. HoyEstimates of increases in production costs are made for the purposes of Annual Reviews and are taken into account then along with all other relevant factors. Figures showing the effect of cost increases arising since the 1969 Review will become available in March following the completion of the 1970 Annual Review, but it is not possible at this stage to make a precise estimate of the kind requested.
