Mr. Eldon Griffiths

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will make a statement on the circumstances in which a British subject, Private Eric Gould, was recently killed in action with Australian forces in Vietnam.

Australian Army Headquarters state that Private Gould, who emigrated to Australia in 1968 and enlisted in the Australian regular Army, was killed in action while serving with 8th Royal Australian Regiment at Long Khanh in South Vietnam on the 21st December, 1969.
