HC Deb 19 January 1970 vol 794 c38W
Mr. Kershaw

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services whether he is aware that no rebuilding at the Royal Gloucestershire Hospital was started in 1969; why this was so; when he estimates that work will begin; and whether he will make a statement.

Dr. John Dunwoody

Some building work was undertaken at the Gloucestershire Royal Hospital in 1969, but the next main phase of the redevelopment of the hospital was not started. Tenders for the work were higher than budgeted for and economies are now being sought. The work will start as soon as possible.
